Mikey's Home Brew Separator

I whipped this together out of a 55 gallon pvc drum, some scrap 2X4's and 3/4" ply wood and 2 Jet 4" collector gates for a total cost of around $12.00

1. Cut the top out of the drum using a jig saw or sawsall.

2. Mount a 2x4 across the center 1/4" below the top edge of the drum and secure it in place using wood or drywall screws thru the side of the drum.

3. Mount 2 2x4 blocks  across from each other opposite of the 2x4 that runs thru the center of the drum. Secure them thru the side of the drum with wood or drywall screws.

4. Cut a piece of plywood 12" deep and the width of the drum wide and mount it to the 2x4 that runs thru the center of the drum. the top edge should be flush with the top edge of the 2x4.

5. Cut a piece of 3/4" plywood 1/2" wider than the diameter of the drum for the top. Cut 2 holes, one on each side of the plywood baffle for the collector gates.

6. Mount the collector gates, use silicon or caulk between the gate and the wood to form a seal and secure them in place with wood or drywall screws.

Mount the top using long deck screws  into the 2x4's and there ya have it.

Enjoy!
