China Buffet

I am currently building a large custom China Buffet for a client.

This unit is 7 feet wide and will stand 80 inches tall when completed. It features raised panel doors and drawer fronts and is being constructed out of Red Oak. The top will have 6 glass doors and glass shelving along with 3 lights.   I am hoping to have a web-cam in the shop soon and will broadcast live images when I am working :-)

Click on the smaller image will open a new window showing a larger view

The base cabinet is 83 inches wide, 38 inches high and has a depth of 24 inches. 3 drawers and 2  raised panel doors on each of the 3 cabinet spaces.
Side view of the base cabinet.
Almost 1/2 done. I have used Minwax Early American stain and the entire unit will receive 3 coats of Minwax hand rubbed gloss poly as a finish.
The top unit 3/4 finished. Trim will match the top rail trim on the base cabinet and stain will be the same. 3/16 glass goes in the doors and 1/4 glass on the shelves.
The top unit almost complete. The rail trim-work is on the top and it has received 3 coats of Minwax hand rubbed polyurethane. I am just waiting on the last of the glass.
Here is another peek at the bottom unit after receiving 3 coats of Minwax Polyurethane. Saturday the 8th of May is delivery day.

:-)

Done and Delivered!

Here's a final peek at the project as it sits in the customers dinning room. They will be adding the hardware.
